Education is an important aspect of the Kamloops Arts and Crafts Club; this may be impromptu sessions as artisans gather or formal classes sponsored by the club.
Painting and fibre arts may offer classes and workshops throughout the year while Pottery classes are typically offered in the spring and fall.
Classes are posted on this page only when they are being offered and registration is open. Registration typically runs for one week, with details shared here and on our social media channels.

Making Pottery With the WheelIntroductory/Beginner Wheel Class
Dates: Sept. 29 to Nov. 17 (Tuesdays - 8 classes)Times: 6:30pm to 9:30pm

Course Description:
Instructor: Michelle Finlayson
In the beginner Pottery wheel class, we will focus on the basic skills of using a pottery wheel and how clay behaves. We will make several different functional pieces, such as mugs, bowls and plates. We will explore different decorating techniques.

Course Description:
Instructor: Juhli Schauer
Explore the fundamentals of hand-building with clay through pinch pots, kurinuki, coil, slab and structural slab techniques, as well as moulds and texture. You’ll experiment with slips, oxides and basic glazing while creating a variety of functional and whimsical pieces, including salt cellars, dipping bowls, mugs, bowls and platters.
